I want a cut of the $.25 if thuis works.
Join the Master to the Detail twice, First join select only debits,
second 
join is credits, Select option to join all. I think you will end up with
master data in all records, debits & Credits in some, debits only in
some, credits only in some.

   1 .....MASTER Data ...... \ ....Debit Data.....\ ....Credit data ....
   2 .....MASTER Data ...... \ ...Default Data ...\ ....Credit data ....
   3 .....MASTER Data ...... \ ....Debit Data.....\ ....Default Data....
You will need to select the proper join type.
