Since (for example) someone might use the READE LR indicator to set the bottom of subfile flag, it is plausible that there are reasons for scanning for an indicator by it's value. With Code 400's editor, LPEX (and no doubt many other editors that I have not tried) this is a simple matter of hitting Ctrl-I and typing in the indicator number. All lines with that number, including the 5.0 fields you mention, are included for browsing. But this is a fast process. Skipping it would just lead to the possibility that you are missing the very problem you are debugging to find.
