The naming convention of the *M36 objects provides a clue that you can have
a thousand *M36's (000 to 999).  I was told there is nothing in the 
system  that limits how many you can have active.  You could probably have
a hundred if your system was large enough to support them - BUT officially
only 3 concurrent *M36 machines are supported, so don't go calling for 
help from IBM if you have 4 or more active and run into problems.
