Our old ones are in OPM PLI, which is no more a product, but a PRPQ. > Are you just taking PDM option 14 (CRTBNDRPG or CRTBNDCBL) to compile your > RPG IV and ILE COBOL programs or are you using PDM option 15 (CRTRPGMOD or > CRTCBLMOD) to create modules, followed by a CRTPGM to bind the modules into > a program object. We have been using a home built COMPILE command to enforce standards and prohibit compilation in QINTER. > Are you using service programs? Yes, and we like them very much, because service programs provide a good mechanism to hide things. So we get a good separation of interface and implementation. > Are you running your RPG IV code in the default activation group or are you > using named activation groups, *NEW, or *CALLER? At the moment we have a mix of PLI and C in our new applications and must use the *DFTACTGRP for coexistence. There are some subtle problems with mixing OPM PLI and ILE C, but we made it go, e.g. writing and reading display records in mixed language (Old library functions not yet migrated to C work together with new C functions) > Are you using binding directories? > Are you using binder language? Yes. Yes. > And finally, are you using data management scoping? One of us has used a second (named) activation group to separate two units of work. No widespread use.
