I have a client that is starting to implement several WIN95 PCs using CA/400 set for 5250 in workstation emulation and using a shared device name. The thing we are trying to figure out is what controls whether the virtual device name is the shared device appended with a letter ('PC010101' + 'A' = 'PC010101A') or 'S' and a number ('PC010101' + 'S1' = 'PC010101S1'). This makes a difference because the user's SIGNON program trys to set the job to go to their attached PC printer outq by looking at the job (#######/USER/DEVICE) and looking up the outq. Prior to WIN95 or using Wall Data or direct from NetSoft routers it was always 'S' and a number until more than 9 connections from the same PC. Thanks.
