I don't know.  We had this discussion a LONG while back (a year or more?) and
never really came to a resolution that I recall.  IPL's reduce temporary
address usage, free up devices in certain error states, and eliminate virtual
sessions that have not been terminated -- among other things.

We previously discussed how to perform IPL's and RCLSTG's in a 24/7
environment, but I'm not sure that we ever came to any conclusion on how or
how often to perform these necessary functions -- although opinions seemed to
vary based upon platform type.  Any insights from the group now that the
"black boxes" have been out for a while?
