>> 1. If we set up RAS on the NT server, can users dial in from home and then access the AS/400 using Client Access for Windows 95? 2. If it is possible, what kind of protocol do I need at the PC and the AS/400? Do I have to use TCP/IP? Can I use MSDLC? 3. If Client Access for Windows 95 cannot do the job, are there any other products that can do the job? << Stanley, I'll take a crack at this one, although it's been a while, and I've never really personally set up the whole thing. You can access the AS/400 using RAS. We used Rumba, but I suspect CA can do it too. I believe the only protocol you can use with RAS is TCP/IP (about 87% sure). You cannot bind MSDLC32 to the dialup adapter in Win95 (100% sure - I tried). Therefore, if you wish to connect to the AS/400 via SNA, you can must use SNA Server on the NT box. You could also run TCP/IP on the AS/400 and dispense with SNA, but then you would need to use FTP for file transfers. If that's not a problem, it's the method I would choose. If it is, I'd go for SNA server. hth Pete -- - Pete Hall peteh@earth.inwave.com http://www.inwave.com/~peteh/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
