Pete, FYI, Verna got my Aptiva working, but instead of it crashing within seconds, it took nearly 5 minutes. Hence, we closed the problem, but I have since re opened it. Since you and I have Aptiva's and IBM emulation cards, and since they don't work together, IBM has decide that the proper way to handle it is by saying, and I quote "IBM does not support the IBM Aptiva twinax connection to the AS/400". Which to me means, Aptiva isn't interested in fixing their problem. It, I don't believe, isn't an IBM Rochester issue. Although, I'm not 100 percent sure of that. But Client Access is till not working with my 95 percent IBM solution. (The remaining 5 percent is Win 95 which was pre-installed on the Aptiva by IBM, and is supported by IBM.) So, the solution they've suggested it to return my 200 MHz Aptiva and "but a compatible system". Which to me means I've got to buy a DELL or Compaq. Oh well... That's what I get for trying to buy IBM. I never had these problems when I avoided IBM PCs. Don't get me wrong, I am very disappointed. The Aptiva S90 and the newer S9C are great looking and great performing machines. They just don't want to work in a network or AS/400 environment. :( Bob Cozzi Bob@rpgdev.net http://www.rpgdev.net * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
