Hi Jim,

Since I have a couple of personal domains and my job (and everyone elses

I do have my resume on Monster and a couple of other job-sites, but just
wanting to maximize my efforts.

I'm wondering if anyone has done their own on-line resume?

I am working on such a website, right now, at the behest of one of my
recruiters.

If so was it effective?

It's not even done yet and I have received several inquiries.

Any problems (spam, etc) that you might have had because of it?

I don't put email or contact information on the site (only on the
downloadable PDF version of the resume). Instead, I have a "contact" form on
the site that will email me the results (inquiry) information behind the
scenes.

How much info would you post?

I like the idea of a comprehensive website. I am planning on putting my
career bio information in one section, different resumes for different types
of positions in another section, and then detailed information about all of
the major projects I have worked on in another. Since some of my work also
includes web-centric applications, I am going to put up a section
highlighting those with screen shots and (where appropriate) links to the
actual web applications I created.

Think it would be worth the effort (although since I have a domain and
enjoy doing web-stuff it really wouldn't be much of an effort).

I think it is. I can get into much more detail on the site than I would be
able to on a resume. I can include graphics, links, and bio information.

When I submit a resume, it is very targeted toward the position I am
applying for. But on the website, I can put additional information about my
other skills and experience that, although it may not pertain to the
specific position I am applying for, it will show the employer the true
breadth of my experience and capabilities.

Just curious what thoughts anyone would have on this subject and anyone
would think it would make a difference.

Thanks for your input!
