My client is a manufacturing company in Northern New Jersey and is lokking
to hire a local candidate only.
The requirements are as follows:




POSITION SUMMARY:



Provide system administration of company's high availability iSeries
applications and system. Responsible for the daily operations, peripheral
equipment, user profiles, security and system interfaces. Perform change
management procedures. Participate in troubleshooting, analyzing, and
reviewing application and system failures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



1. Schedule, monitor, and control iSeries processing.

2. Perform change management procedures.

3. Create and maintain user profiles and 3rd party
application security.

4. Provide end user support to all iSeries users and I.S.
personnel. This includes but is not limited to all 3rd party software in
production.

5. Maintain jobs necessary to monitor and report on
backups, security violations, and disk utilization.

6. Monitor and support interfaces with 3rd party
applications on network platform.

7. Provide tape handling for backups and off-site
storage.

8. Maintain system availability and connectivity.

9. Perform Disaster recovery tests.

10. Perform installation and maintenance of Operating System,
Licensed Program Products, and PTF's.

11. Install 3rd party software upgrades and patches.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems , technical
education at the college level or equivalent experience.



Experience: Three to five years' experience in iSeries systems
administration.



Specific

Skills: Experience in the support of the iSeries and
peripherals. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve issues.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively. Good
verbal and written communications skills. Good organizational skills.
