IT Manager job opportunity - west greater Toronto Area

SUMMARY
 

Manages the Information Technology operations for  -------- Company Limited 
Group of Companies, ensuring efficient operation of the hardware, WAN/LAN and 
related software.

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Management
  a.. Manages staff within the department, interviews and hires new employees, 
carries out performance appraisals, directs the training and development of 
staff.
 

 

Operations
  a.. Provides iT services for group of companies.
  b.. Works closely with suppliers in an outsourcing mode.
  c.. Develops and maintains iT budget.
  d.. Strength in dealing with Business Units and Managers in both responding 
to and giving advice on technology utilization.
  e.. Ability to design and negotiate on LAN/WAN operations.
  f.. Major involvement required in implementation of JDE software in a 
business unit presently on a different operating system.
  g.. VOIP project to be managed immediately. Telecommunications skills a 
definite asset.
 

 

 

Organization Structure
  a.. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, manages a Network Administrator 
and a Support Specialist/Mail Administrator.
Technical Knowledge
  a.. Company operates JDE, version Xe ERP software on a pc environment.
  b.. Recently implemented CRM Version 3
  c.. Microsoft package, SQL 2000, Windows 2000-2003, active Directory
  d.. Desktop - internet explorer, office etc.
  e.. EDI - some understanding advantageous but not essential.
  f.. Must be a definite team player in dealing with users as a partner as much 
as technical support.
  a.. Good verbal and written communication skills to deal with all levels of 
staff within the company
