Position:                      AS/400 Programmer*
 
Hours:                         8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Position Purpose
 
Responsible for design, development, and implementation of new
applications for the existing order entry/batch processing systems.
Responsible for maintenance, testing and debugging of existing systems.
Requires excellent communication, analytical, design and programming
skills. Must be a team player. Must be highly motivated self-starter who
possesses a strong attention to detail.
 
 
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
 
Responsible for design, development, and implementation of new
applications for order entry/batch processing systems. Also responsible
for maintenance and debugging of existing programs. 
 
Adheres to existing standards and documentation requirements. Prepares
documentation according to standards and procedures. Test all programs
according to standards and procedures. Prepares necessary production
procedures and documentation according to established standards, and
turns final product over to appropriate department to ensure timely
production processing.
 
 

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

 
An Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
or equivalent work experience.  A minimum of three-five years experience
in RPGLE or RPG III or RPG IV, CL, DDS and FTP File Transfer Protocol.
Must possess excellent communications skills both orally and in writing.
Candidate must be able to work independently, be very organized, and be
able to keep end-users on track with regards to projects.
