Posting Job Description PURPOSE: 
. The primary purpose of this job is to support the billing system
programming and support structures while providing exceptional customer
service to the TWC Raleigh Division end users. 
. Has frequent interaction with customers: therefore, must be effective in
interpersonal communications and problem solving. Has interaction with
external vendors and contractors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

90 - 95% of time devoted to the following support responsibilities:
. System programming, setup support and daily operational troubleshooting
programmer support for the ICOMS Billing System application.
. Programming support of existing applications and creation of new
applications
. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of in house applications
. Focal point for data extractions from the billing system as it relates to
business needs
. Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant product offerings and
support policies to provide technically accurate solutions to customers
. Participate in team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of the
Programming/Project Management team and the MIS department
. Works with and takes direction from MIS Project Manager when applicable
. Initiate coding projects in a professional, project oriented methodology
which provides the an error free result for the end user
. Assist in special product related issues as needed
. Maintain a high level of client trust and confidence in the group's
knowledge of and concern for the client's needs
. Responsible for testing of other employee's reporting/programming projects
(quality control)
. Responsible for documentation of each completed project
. Assist/lead in user training and/or acceptance testing of pilot programs
. Support for user created queries or tools
. System backups and maintenance
. System processing of billing and month end 

5 % of time devoted to the following support responsibilities:

. Researching latest trends in AS400 programming and implementing those with
other team members- where it makes sense

DECISION MAKING: 
. This is a mid-level programming position. 
. This person will have no decision-making authority over others in the
department. 
. This person will escalate all issues that they are unable to resolve to
their immediate supervisor or the department manager.

JOB DIMENSIONS: 
. Position has responsibility over the customer satisfaction of the MIS end
users as well as the stability and reliability of the MIS applications. 
. Also has responsibility to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely
manner and that all timelines are adhered to. 
. Quality control responsibilities are extremely important in this position
as it protects the accuracy of our reports that are used to make important
business decisions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
. RPG programming
. CL programming
. SQL programming
. iSeries OS400 Operating System configuration
. Keyboarding Skills: 40 - 60 wpm minimum
. Word processing skills
. Microsoft Project knowledge
. Ability to handle multiple tasks
. Ability to work with others in a professional manner
. Ability to coordinate with other departments to complete requests
. Ability to share ideas and receive constructive feedback from others
. Extreme attention to detail

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
. College degree required. If not already certified, must be certified as an
IBM Certified Specialist - AS400 RPG IV Developer within a year (Test 267). 
. Must also be certified as an IBM Certified Specialist - AS400 RPG IV
Programmer (Test 266).

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
. 4 - 5 years experience in programming on the IBM iSeries AS400 platform,
which includes gathering of initial requirement specifications, coding,
testing and documentation. 
. Knowledge of IBM iSeries AS400 Operating System configuration. 
. Experience in Convergys ICOMS Application preferred, but not required. 

ESSENTIAL MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
. Must be able to work in a sometimes high pressure, deadline oriented,
mutli-tasking environment with high analytical skills and attention to
accuracy. 
. Must be able to focus and complete tasks.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
. Must be able to sit for extended amounts of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
. Work environment is indoors. 
. Interaction with hardware is required. Rotating On-call responsibility one
week per month is a must.

. Calculator, personal computer/laptop, phone, cell phone/PDA
