I need a tool that could generate reports by user, date and program id,
something user friendly that an auditor can use.

I know the journaling is an option provided by the operating system,
but
is not friendly enough.

Understood. If you post your message to the midrange-l list, you will
receive good responses. Some may be from vendors. Most do not monitor this
list, I think.
