I think you will need to be much more explicit in what you want to accomplish. But if one wants a program to be able to effect the same as what Display/Alter/Dump can do to /alter/ storage... Well, you are pretty much out of luck.

The LIC does not give access to the MI to generically manipulate any storage like the menu interface to the D/A/D. That is a primary part of ensuring integrity of the system. This is true irrespective of release or security level. An MI program can only modify /spaces/ to which it obtains an address. If an address to an /object/ is obtained, if the object does not have a space, there is no access available to the object except the supported methods. The supported methods are those MI instructions that are provided to perform against the /object/ by its [resolved] system pointer. There is no MI instruction that enables addressing into the object itself, only into its space.
