Can we use the user-defined communication APIs (QOLELINK, QOLSEND, etc.) to
create a Point-to-Point TCP/IP program?

I'm looking at "RFC1661" (The Point-to-Point Protocol) full of geeky bits
and bytes. Could we in theory replace OS/400's STRTCPPTP command with our
own home-grown AS/400 program to talk to a sysco router NTRAS2 that runs
PPP? Or am I hopelessly naive here?
