I'd like to pick up the info returned in MATMATR option x'0168'  - Panel
Status Request.

How do you test the value of an individual bit in MI?  Is there
a way in RPGLE ?

===> there is an instruction just for that: TSTBUM
(love that name!). Test bit(s) under mask.

E.g. TSTBUM(B)  XXX, X'80'/ZER(GO-IF-ALL-ZERO),
                                             ONES(GO-IF-ALL-ONES),
                                             MXD(GO-IF MIXED-BAG);
