My code did have a SETSPPFP following the RSLVSP. It reads:

/*--Point to beginning of associated space     */
  SETSPPFP        .Profile_Data,.ProfileDfn;

as Gene points out you must follow the RSLVSP by a SETSPPFP
to get a space pointer from the system pointer. The error must be
on that instruction not the RSLVP.
