I should have also pointed out that bulk files like image files are a good
choice for IFS.  Images can certainly be stored to advantage in the data
base.

But, if the main use of a given set of images is simply to be images on a
web page, for instance, then IFS is a great choice, because they are
readily accessed in other HTML that will point to them.  Simple and usable.

It may also simplify migration of HTML and images from various sorts of
"web builder" tools.  It can all be "zipped up" and then unzipped on the
OS/400 side.

In the actual example, I think someone said the images are stored on
optical devices, which are inherently in IFS.
