Yes, inserting the "gap" between the record and the nullmap in the output buffer works in the demo, when the UFCB is "open for everything". But I haven't managed to get it to work in the real application. I did, however, think of one thing to try. I'll keep you posted. I also need to double check that, with the given UFCB settings (which should preclude a "variable length access component" appearing), the formula doesn't get thrown off if there's a VARLEN field. -- J.Lampert
