Seeing as how James asked for how to determine the information *from a PC* and
*without* uploading it, then it seems to me Dave's reply was very useful.

And even if you can't write a PC program, you can use any number of tools to
just display the contents of the SAVF -- even though it is in EBCDIC.  For
example, my favorite PC viewer is V.EXE from www.fileviewer.com and it allows
you to toggle in EBCDIC mode, set arbitrary implied "record lengths", yada,
yada, yada.
