I'm a little confused. What do you mean by "the program monitored for the error?" In the following pgm, if I call it with a parm of 'S', it crashes and the MCH1202 is written to the joblog. But if I call it with any other parm, so that it does the MODEXCPD, it goes to BADDEC and no msg appears in the joblog. Or am I missing something? --Dave ENTRY EXENTRY (EXENTOL) EXT; DCL SPCPTR P01 PARM; DCL OL EXENTOL (P01) EXT PARM MIN(1); DCL DD $OPER CHAR( 1) BAS(P01); DCL CON SKIP CHAR(2) INIT(X'3000'); DCL CON HANDLE CHAR(2) INIT(X'B000'); DCL CON OP2ISCON CHAR(1) INIT(X'01'); DCL DD ABIN BIN(4) AUTO BDRY(4); DCL DD APCK PKD(5,0) AUTO; DCL EXCM BADDECEX EXCID(H'0C00') BP(BADDEC) SKP; CMPBLA(B) $OPER, 'S'/EQ(AFTMOD); MODEXCPD BADDECEX,HANDLE,OP2ISCON; AFTMOD: CPYBLA APCK, 'BAD'; CPYNV ABIN, APCK; B ENDPGM; BADDEC: CPYNV ABIN, 0; ENDPGM: PEND; Leif Svalgaard wrote: > When an exception (such as MCH1202) occurs > a record line (such as "decimal data error") is > written to the job log even if the program monitored > for the error and did not abend. > Anybody know how to turn off or suppress that message > (or if it can even be turned off)? > > Leif Svalgaard +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
