Scott,

The new PTFs to fix the latest password problem are now available. Here
are
the PTF numbers for each release:

V3R2 SF63352
V4R1 SF63350
V4R1M4 SF63351
V4R2 SF63456
V4R3 SF63457
V4R4 SF63458
V4R5 SF63459

The PTF for V4R1 and V4R1M4 were temporarily marked defective with
other
PTFs for the same APAR even though they were not defective.

All PTFs, except for the V4R5 one, include other fixes that require an
IPL
to apply the PTF. The V4R5 PTF does not require an IPL to apply the
PTF,
but just applying the PTF is not sufficient to immediately fix the
problem.
The V4R5 PTF must be activated to fix the problem and clear passwords
from
internal control blocks. The V4R5 PTF can be activated by terminating
and
then restarting all subsystems that perform interactive (sign-on)
work.

The PTFs for V4R2, V4R3, V4R4, and V4R5 no longer include an additional
fix
of a display problem that cause them to be defective. In other words
instead of trying to fix the other problem it was backed out so that
only
the password fix is contained in the new PTFs. I have been told that
the
new PTF completely replaces all parts from the defective PTF, so if
you
were unfortunate enough to permanently apply the defective PTF, this
new
one will remove the defective fix.
