They have a _very_ strange pricing system which seems to change with each
release, if not more often!  They seem to fix the price of a particular edition
of a book based on the pricing formual in effect at that time and then keep that
price even if the next edition comes out more (or less).

If it is any consolation, when I was with IBM I found that the internal prices
were even more peculiar - one release it would cost you $1.25 - the next it
would be $70+

Must be something to do with the altitude in Boulder <g>
