Doug,

I just ordered online and noticed the same thing you did with the prices.
Sheesh.

Interesting thing, though, I ordered ST01-4780-00, which appears to be
specific to V4R2, and that pub number appears on the order, but, below that
appears pub number SC41-5810-00, which has the exact same title except that,
instead of showing V4R2, it shows V4 (no release). They're both 1440 pages
(and so is the V4R3 version), but the SC41-5810 has a retail price of
$111.00. Hmmm.

Also, the "latest dash level" for SC41-5810 is 10/99; for ST01-4780 is
02/98. I wonder what this means.

Since all three of the V4 pubs are shown as being 1440 pages, I'm wondering
if there are any significant differences between the R2 & R3 versions.
Anybody?

Interesting that there was no V4R4 version of the manual.

Kurt,

THANK YOU (yes, I'm shouting)!

>You should get a list of the pubs you are looking for.
>You want ST01-4780 for $35.

I just ordered this for $35 by calling 800-879-2755, with free ground
shipping.

I wonder who sets the prices at IBM for this stuff. The V4R3 is $193,
the V4R2 is $35, and the V3R7 is $257. Other versions were $57.75 and
$111. Go figure.
