: Phil: sounds like you imply system pointers can be bases for offsets at : level 30. : What happened to MCH3602, "Pointer type not valid for requested operation" : ? Sorry, while I was writing the last note, I was actually mistaking by-passing the object storage domain protection (i.e. user-state cannot access sys-domain objects directly) with accessing some objects headers. You can normally only access the headers if the setsppfp() returns the space pointer into that object header from the object system pointer i.e. *FILE, *CMD etc. objects return a space pointer (usually 0x100 bytes offset from the system pointer address) *PGM/*SRVPGM (and a few other) objects as we all know return the address of the assoc. space if you setsppfp() the object system pointer. apologies for my confusion - it must be the weather ! --phil +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
