Array Element Offset (AEO) declares non-contiguous array elements. Use it
with DEF over another array. Here's an example. The third declaration has
an array lower bound at 7.

dcl dd Date(2)    auto char(6) init("010295", "040599");
dcl dd Month(2)   def(Date) pos(1) char(2) aeo(6);
dcl dd Day(7:8)   def(Date) pos(3) char(2) aeo(6);

-- the value of Month(1) is "01"
-- the value of Month(2) is "04"
-- the value of Day(7) is "02"
-- the value of Day(8) is "05"
