What makes you think using MI will help, it would be of more use to know some of the internal undocumented features of OS/400. CleanSweep works on Win9x/NT because you ask the OS to notify you of file changes (I've used it - to write a windows version of the Unix util 'tail') Temporary space being used up smells more like a poorly written module in SQL, Net.Data, PERL or something of that ilk that is not freeing up allocated memory.
