Hi all, I repost a part of messeges that I have sended in 1996 at midrange-l list. What thought of it? My question is: What is the process for ILE RPG? ------------------------ The compilation process consist in two phases: The translation in IRP and the compilation in vertical and horizontal internal code (CRTPG). If you compile a rpg pgm with the option *list, *xref, *atr, *dump in output you have a listing with some tables: - the MI intermediate rapresentation process with the microinstruction. For each group of MI instruction correspond one line of RPG C Specification. - one table represent the name of variables and the name of branch tags and where are used. For retrive the variables the process is very complex. If you use the STRSST comand on this pgm you have a listing with the further translation of each MI instruction in assembler code. Option start a service tool, Display/alter/dump Dump to printer MI object Program(02) Option 1 Insert the name of pgm and insert into context the library of pgm Format disassembled code STRSST print the disassembly of program object For each group of IMPI instruction correspond one MI instruction. If you see on the rigth of each IMPI Instr. you find the HEX number of the MI instruction represented into RPG compilation! Merging the informations of this two listing is possible the de-compilation... +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
