In some MRP systems the number of decimal positions for a field is stated as a number in a separate field and the value with decimal positions is carried as a integer in another field.

For example the value with 7 decimal positions would appear as 12345678 in 1 field and the number 7 would appear in another field. When used the value in the first field (12345678) would be multiplied by .0000001

Subject: [MAPICS-L] 4 decimal PO price

Hello:
Has anyone come up with a solution for addressing the 4 decimal places for a PO price? We've struggled with rounding issues for prices that should be 5 and 6 decimals.
I had logged a ticket several years ago inquiring how Infor planned to address the issue. At that time it sounded as though there were plans to change the field to have additional decimal places. I just inquired and was told there isn't a change and there aren't plans to make changes to address the short comings of having a 4 decimal place PO price field.
Has anyone come up with a solution to address the need?
Regards,Laura
