Perhaps you're all well beyond this but we get great value out of MMAIL by
Giovanni Perroti in Italy.
Simple conversion to PDF and email in one step.
If this "solution" has nothing to do with the problem, please accept my
apologies in advance.

When you say host print to email, that normally involves SCS or AFP
documents.
Does Formtastic create that or does it gen directly to PCL spool file or PDF
?

subject: [MAPICS-L] Report Override and PDFs
We use Formtastic and wanted to hook it in for the Host Print to Email
functionality. We have this working, but are having the "issue" where it
physically prints AND emails it.
We found KB 1612334 that sounds like another company also had this issue and
has a work around by changing the (Retrieve printer file override command)
program.
By some small chance is the person who came up with this work around on this
list and willing to share some more details on this work around?
Thanks,
Scott Johnson

I am going to guess that you don't use XA. If that is the case, not sure why
you are here. :)
Anyways. Here are more details on the process:
Within the Host Print dialog, there is the Output tab where you can have it
send an Email. For email you can select the type of attachment: PDF, HTML,
or TXT.
Normally, if you select PDF, there is a XA program that kicks in to convert
the spool file to a PDF that XA then emails out.
There is an option via a User Exit where a different PDF converter can be
used, in our case Formtastic.
With that user exit turned on and a little bit of code added, the spool file
is handed off to Formtastic to create the PDF. Formtastic then hands the PDF
back to XA for it to email off.
Thanks,
Scott Johnson
