Hi,

This may not seem like an XA related problem, but it is related to using System-Link with an XA File/Table.

In short, I'm developing a sub-system to take output from a CAD system and inputting it to EPDM using System-Link. I have got all the programs to run separately, but I'm finding little bugs when doing full testing. My latest issue has been resolved by reading a Product Structure Detail (PSTDTL) record with SQL which provides me with a Token in hexadecimal. I now need to update this record with an XML command through System-Link.

If I want to update this record with System-Link, the Token needs to be converted to character. My research has found that the way to do this is to define a Procedure using the "cvtch" service program. However, I do not have this object on my system. I have the source in QSYSINC/MIH, but can't get the sequence of events that need to be used to turn the source into a Service Program. I have compiled the source into a module with CRTCMOD but from here I am stuck. Whatever I do with the CRTSRVPGM command, I get an error and the listing output is not helpful.

Does anyone have an idea of what I need to do to accomplish my mission. In the internet articles, it intimates the service program should be on the system, but it isn't. We are running 7.1 on our IBMi Server.

Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Rgrds,
