I wish to be able to access tables in an SQLServer database to update XA files using a System-Link connection in an RPG program.

I have configured the application for the correct drivers as per various KnowledgeBase documents. We are using IBMi 7.1. The SQL Server driver installed, sqljdbc4.jar, was downloaded from the Microsoft site and installed in the /Infor/driverlib directory in the IFS. This was copied to the PC, as described in the KB used, when first attempting to use the created Data Source.

I have been able to create Business Objects for the tables I need to access, and to populate Views and Cards with the data through Power-Link. I imagine that this uses the same connection dialogue as would System-Link.

I then attempted to access one of the tables through System-Link.

I obtained the XML statement to Query one of the SQLServer tables using the "Navigation/System-Link Request" function from the General View of the business object in Power-Link. But when trying to execute the query, the System-Link session is initiated correctly, and when the QueryObject XML statement is executed through the PSVPSR1R program, the message returned provides the full metadata statements, followed by "

I have sent as many log files as could be found, according to KBs read, to Infor and await a response.

In the meantime, I thought I would place this issue on the MAPICS-L discussion group wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation and has been able to get around the problem correctly.
