I haven't had the opportunity to watch the videos. Michael's original post
made it sound like he was selling something. If he's not, if he is in fact
giving something away for free, educational or practical, then I apologize
to him.

We have lost subscribers in the past due to 'gray area' posts such as
announcements by non-profit groups, and even in instances where the
violation and my response were clear (I've never actually blacklisted
anyone, and that rankled at least one person). I have a sizable folder of
complaints from subscribers that I've accumulated over several years. It
keeps things interesting, which must be why I get the big bucks for this
job (Monopoly money enlarged on a photocopier - grin). I try to be
even-handed and not tyrannical, but I'm far from perfect (my wife and
kids make sure I never forget that), so I'm sure I've made mistakes along
the way. Since the complaints folder hasn't consumed my hard drive yet, I
don't think I've totally botched things.

I'm glad that the posting has proven valuable to someone, whether it
violated the guidelines or only appeared to.

I'm trying to think of a tactful way to say "Please continue violating
this rule." A moderately informed person should be able to tell the
difference between shilling and quality, helpful information. I believe
your videos were the latter.

This list is so dead, this kind of absolutism isn't called for.

Hi *ALL again,

I just got a information from David Shaw that there was a rule violated:
"Advertising products, repeated postings, etc, are strictly prohibited.".
Sorry for breaking this rule. It was not the idea to sell software but
showing technology. That's why we show also important parts of the source
code to give you information to reproduce this for your own needs. I like
the great technology behind Infor ERP XA and I would like to help others to
understand and use this technology.
