Program on relationship works. You can use QTEMP but i traditionally just
use a unique key like a user id

I sometimes do it by part number. Basically share same work file for all.
When I enter program I delete all existing records for key and rebuild

It works very well. I use this technique all the time.

If you launch this from another business object it works best. So from
item warehouse object I may launch to a user file that show indented bill
of material with shortages

So the trick is build this from another object with a relationship to this
file not directly the object being deployed.

You can also populate other files. So for example you may populate summary
usage by month over item reading imhist but write a summary record too that
is displayed on a compound card

It has to be one to many to file. But the file could have one record too.

Hope helps a bit.

I'm trying to figure out if this is possible. The earlier discussion got
me to thinking. I would like to populate a business object preferable in
QTEMP as the user enters the business object. What I'm wanting to do is
generate records in the business object for records pertaining only to that
user. This would be populated on the fly. So The Relationship Program
Action might not be viable. Is it possible to call a program as to create
the file in qtemp and populate the file before the power link view is
opened? I looked at user exits but there really isn't a place to put user
defined code in the load buffer programs with out breaking the rules.

Any ideas?
