The new IBM systems do not support any kind of twinax connection. None
whatsoever.

Hi James,

I had the same problem - and since the twinax cables were already run to
the computer room, I selected the BOSaNOVA eTwin converter. You just plug
the old twinax runs into it (you can hang up to 8, I believe), and then plug
it into your network, and viola! Instant connectivity.

I had an 11 acre facility, and a bunch of old twin-ax devices that worked
great - no reason to replace 'em.

Check out the product description on their web site at

Subject: [MAPICS-L] New ISeries - Old Twinax

As I started to write this, I couldn't remember how to spell twinax!
That's when you know it's old!

All,

We are obtaining a new ISeries and we have a couple of great hi-speed
twinax printers we'd like to retain.

Can anyone recommend some devices that go from TCP/IP to twinax?

I've done the opposite with lasers.

Thanks so much for any input!
