Peter,

Thank you for the kind words! And I have gotten a great deal of help off this
thread myself - it's a very good resource.

You have excellent reasons - at FFT I also bypassed many of the off-line load
processes due mostly to file lockouts and conflicts (as Pete O. just said, it
doesn't need dedicated mode anymore, but it DOES require more lockouts than are
actually needed for what you are doing). I usually only used the offline load
process for customer orders, product structures, and routings. Those are too
integrated to trust myself to remember everything I needed to test.

And the documentation is a definite reason - I'm assuming you are bound by the
ever-delightful requirements of SARBOX?

The only caveat I have for you is to make sure you get ALL those extra fields
zeroed. I've been burned on that a couple times when I miss one.

Dale:

By the way, I really admire certain people in this because of the
professionalism and willingness to help the user community and you are one
of them, I just have to say THANK YOU because of that (and before I
forget)...

I am considering the offline process but is not in the top of my list
because 2 main reasons:

a) I need a dedicated system.
b) Documentation. Our local requirements to document our data update
processes are so tedious and draining that I try to keep processes as
simple as I can so I can comply with the documentation and at the same
time, keeping a simple process.

However, if there is no other way, yes: I have already considered offline
as a potential solution. I was looking for additional options that may
take me there.

Thank you Dale!
