Not sure if applicable but on a template, you can use the option to
default a value based on "related" object. So if the relationship is setup
to the two business objects, regardless of index, it can carry forward the
customer # or whatever field you want from a related object.
So maybe this is an option (or not) depending on your work flow.
Again it's on the create template of the record you want to create and
click on related link and find the attribute from the other attribute you
want to carry forward.

Answer to your question about secondary posted on INFOR365. (See Below)
If you can build a view with the secondary table data attributes and the
customer number from the primary table in powerlink, you can the create
a system link or (client link) request that will give you the data you
are trying to extract.
You can embed this request in your program as if the table you describe
already exists.
Here was your question:
I have a primary (customer order) and secondary file (CCard) defined.
And that works great.I need data (customer number) from the primary to
populate the customer number field inthe secondary file when the order
is created. I realize, that if the customer number was part of the
indexing then it would work. But the problem is that the customer number
is not part of the primary indexing. Can I change the indexing of the
Customer order file without harm?So how would I do something like this,
otherwise? User exit?
