Weston,
I wrote something years ago using a free SMTP program from the iSeries magazine as the e-mail sender. The nightly job would issue the email from a custom database that captured the UPS/FEDEX/Bill-of-Lading number retrieved from the shipping add-on.

The primary challenge is where are you storing the email addresses for the customers. My email database stores not only unlimited email addresses for each address type (customer; ship-to; vendor; etc.) but also which document that address is supposed to receive (order acknowledgement; ASN; invoice; EFT Remittance; etc.).

Hello All

Here is our present problem:

When a customer calls in, we have to track the package via UPS website
and either tell them the status or email them a link to the page. It
would be great if we could automatically email a shipment confirmation
with tracking number, etc when the order leaves our building. If we can
solve this problem, this would save a fair amount of time.

How are you folks doing this?

Thanks

Weston
