I don't really think it's a matter of "rushing" to windows 7. Instead, it is a the product and release policies of Microsoft that are making windows 7 the most attractive choice. We are going to skip Vista altogether, but in the meantime some of our XP systems are getting a little long in the tooth. It is still possible to get a new machine and put XP on it, but Microsoft is increasingly making that difficult to do.

Pardon my ignorance, by why are people in such a rush to go to Windows 7?

Hasn't Microsoft more than proven its inability to have a bug free product on release day?
