You have to give INFOR cudo's for attempting a new technology solution.
Understand the reason was the original mistake of moving the 2008 INFORUM
from spring to fall. They received a large dose of reality with the number
of customer complaints. To their credit, at the fall show in Las Vegas they
immediately announced that the next INFORUM would be in the spring. Since
that meant 6 months from Las Vegas, they wisely chose to move it to spring
2010. That left a large 18 month gap in the marketing / development cycles
as one of the primary reasons for the annual shows (INFORUM, SAPHIRE, etc.)
is to allow companies to preview products and changes to get into the
budgeting cycles. Recognizing this, they came up with the creative solution
of the INFORUM Online conference.
I agree with the comments, that within a product line, if you are keeping up
with INFOR there was not a lot of new news. But for those that focus on the
issues once a year for their budget cycles, in my opinion it would have been
helpful.
I found a couple of sessions of interest. So for me, the $49 was well worth
it. Just think, for less than the cost of a meal.
