Skip is absolutely right.... DON'T LET THEM TALK YOU INTO CHANGING THE CODE!!!!

We had the same thing, we just prefixed their preferred location with a "R" for RM/WIP. In a little while, they'll be so used to it they won't even think about it. And if you change the code (especially for something as significant as "ST01"), you will be paying that price for a loooooong time.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] location QC.... and ST....

In our scanning/warehouse system the workers created a location called
STAGE which works fine there. But in the MAPICS system locations
starting with ST and QC have a special meaning and are not allowed.
Is there any way around these restrictions beside program changes.
Looking at the code it seems like there are no ways out.

Our warehouse people love location STAGE and don't want to give it
up..... they want me to change MAPICS. But there are just too many
places that will not accept that location. Any suggestions?

Greg
