Hi,

We went with Global Software's Spreadsheet Server and e-dash products.
We have been using them for over a year now and are very happy with
them. We were able to develop drill through reports with minimal amount
of training. There support staff is very good and has always been quick
to respond to any questions regarding how best to perform our queries.
We are also using AM on XA 5.5.

FRx is looking at an end of life reported to be December of 2010. It
also required extracts and rebuilds that for a number of contacts I
spoke with was very time consuming and problematic. One of the things we
like a lot about Spreadsheet server is that it uses the live XA data on
the iSeries and does not need to replicate the data somewhere first.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] RFI - financial report writer

Controller is looking for financial report writer package to eliminate
too much Excel. Just looked at Infor PM. Looks like a good package that
does BI and report writing, but it's more than we need and the cost is
high. Not sure why Infor no longer promotes FRx, but that's the sort of
system that's a good fit (no extra bells and whistles, primarily just
reports designed by accountants for accountants). Suggestions or
experience with 3rd party software packages greatly appreciated. We use
AM (not IFM). Thanks in advance.
