My response was predicated on the statement that you were running MAPICS/DB with a lot of .net, VB6 code and offline sql

If running XA7, you are well posistioned to take advantage of system.link

Note that a prerequiset is enterprise integrator.

See Robert Russels post regarding an overview of system-link.

To put it anotherway, with system-link there is NO erp system that can match the power and ease of use. I am an independent integrator that implements and supports SAP, Oracle ERP, and a number of INFOR products both iSeries and non-iSeries

I can indepentently verify that XA with Enterprise Integrator and System-Link is second to none.

Yes I do have a supply web demo. Contact me offline. But also note that I am not a reseller and do not receive compensation from INFOR

Kevin,

I see. I'm not the iSeries admin but I'm trying to get a perspective on
the value of the IBM/Infor offered products. Currently we are at V5R4.
We are still running green-screens. We are also running XA7.

Web-services and XML enabled apps are definitely a plus here. But
besides creating a single GUI to interact with multiple databases, does
system-link provide functionality to post transactions to XA or is it
only for data retrieval.

No I have not seen supply web... I would like to. Got a demo?

Chris

Web services to enable access MAPICS XA data.

Mapics/db is 22 years old. Ask yourself what value is there in a 2010
honda civic vs a 1988 honda civic.

The list is too long and the world has change in fundamentle ways

I can tell you that staying on mapics/DB is a certain way to lose money
and opportunity relative to running the latest code

Have you seen suppy web?

Btw...I receive no compensation from infor

Currently we have many apps developed with .NET and VB6 and Access/SQL
databases that interface with the Mapics DB.

What advantages/disadvantages would System-Link provide us?
