Good afternoon to all:

Summary
I want to inform you about an issue that you may be related with in the
future and we have decided to share this information to all of you. Until
today, we were under the impression that all of the IM transactions were
based ONLY on the way the Item Master “A” file (ITEMASA) was configured
for all items. We recently learned that this is not entirely true.

Scenario
Let's use the case of an MQ with no order number. The program that IM
uses to process IP RS, SS and RM transactions is called AMI35 (M75 83367
INVENTORY DATA ENTRY-PRODUCTION STORES) . If EPDM installed &
interfacing, the program gets the current item revision in the Site linked
to the warehouse so that the batch/lot-control flag and the
inspect-on-receipt flag are correct for the Site. This is done for all 4
transactions on this program and this is how it gets the information:

Site Id: Program chains to the Warehouse Master to get the site.
Item: After validations, the item that was entered on the screen.
Date: After validations, the transaction date.

After this, the MAPICS program AMDFEI0R is used to pull the ITMRVA
information for the CURRENT REVISION of the item in question.

We also learned that a compatible behavior is present when doing RD-RI-RP
decision (). All these facts were later confirmed by MAPICS INFOR Support
().

Conclusion
All our efforts to keep all the engineering data in synch between the Item
Revisions and the Item Master files is totally worth it and also
recommended by INFOR but it is now more clear why we need to keep the
ITMRVA correct and from there, correct ITEMASA. Until that happens,
remember (when fixing files and data) that most of the IM transactions are
looking to the ITMRVA and not ITEMASA.

Regards to all,
