We had the same problem at FFT with the engineers - I couldn't find a way to effectively restrict the users in R6 since it was a screen option.

What I did was totally remove that capability from everyone but ONE person (outside of I.T.), and he knew that if he screwed up, it would be his fault, and his fault alone. And that worked. Of course, he still made the mistake occasionally, but we wrote a program to refresh costing from a backup. And he could only do Current rolls, not Standard. That made it safer for us, since we costed from standard for accounting (not for order closeout variances, though, but that was just to check for "completeness").

Sorry!

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Limit Selective Cost Roll Up

Good Afternoon All,

We are encountering a situation where a user, who has the security
rights to do only selective cost roll ups in EPDM, occasionally rolls up
thousands of items instead of the intended one item.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to limit the user to a single
item roll up?

Thank you,
