Mike:
If you suspend the item balance you can stop MO, PO, and CO entry, but you
will still be able to transact the item, and I believe MRP will still plan
them, but you won't be able to release the MO, or PO
If you still need to do MO's and PO's. In the past I have done user exits
in COM and CSM that would look at a user field and if flagged it would stop
that item from being entered on the CO.
Let me know if you would like to discuss either of these in more detail.
Thanks.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Prevent item entry on customer order but allow other MRP
IM activities
Has anyone found work arounds for this problem?

There is not a way to prevent an item from being entered on a customer order
but allow other activities on the item.
