Re: [MAPICS-L] XA unattended nightly save

Willie--- We pretty much follow suite with everyone else that has
responded and use pre/post backup programs to shutdown subsystems and do
some other cleanup tasks (like closing IM batches and killing all those
QZRCSRVS jobs that will hold up dedicated mode).

Using the job scheduler we have another program set to go around 4am
that starts up Power-Link:
PSICTLJVS REQUEST(*LIST) ENVLIST(YY) STROPT(*ALL)

If you want some code let me know.

William,

We end the subsystems QINTER and QUSRWRK process the backup and then
restart Powerlink with command: PSICTLUJB ENV('AA') UJOB('PSVJUP')
REQUEST(*START) OPTION(*ALL). The reason of ending QINTER is because
we
have other software that access files from AMFLIB.

[MAPICS-L] XA unattended nightly save

We currently schedule our XA saves to run unattended each night at 8pm.
We
use the Job Scheduler and run the following command: AUTOBCK
ENDES('MM')
BCKTYP('D'). I have the 'END INACTIVE SESSIONS' set to YES, all others
are set to NO. In the past this has not been a problem, but as we start

using Integrator and Power-Link more, we are having a problem getting a
dedicated system to run the saves in.
I would like to hear from other users on how they handle there XA saves.

Thank you,
William Moore
