The "STRXA" (aka "STRMAPICS") command sets up the library list, sets up the LDA, and adds a record for the job to the JOBACT file. It makes a job using the XA database an "official" XA job.

Sets library list. Probably checks security also. Never tried that.

I was always told it establishes the MAPICS environment for jobs not started within MAPICS.
