LQ transaction will split a batch/lot. As a result, you will get two SLQNTY records.

For example, You have a part ABC with LOT#= 0815001A and quantity = 100 pieces. Lets say you want to break this lot into 2 lots of 75 (0815001A)and 25 pieces (0815001B).
LQ transaction will enable you to do this.
